LowCarbChocolates.com only ships to addresses in the United States, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, APO/FPO, and Canada.
No matter what season or time of year, LowCarbChocolates.com will not be responsible for perishable items sent by regular UPS Ground, UPS 3 Day Select, or US Parcel Post or Priority Mail.
We know sugar free chocolates and candies can melt during the summer months or any time of year where your delivery address OR THE DELIVERY ROUTE between our warehouse in Reno, NV and your delivery address is above 80 degrees.
LowCarbChocolates.com ONLY guarantees the condition of your order if you order by UPS 2nd Day Air or UPS Overnight. |

What is "cocoa bloom"?
Chocolate contains cocoa butter, a vegetable fat that is sensitive to heat and humidity. Temperatures above 75 degrees will cause chocolate to melt. The cocoa butter can rise to the surface and form a very thin grayish discoloration called "cocoa butter bloom." Condensation on milk or semi-sweet chocolate may cause the sugar to dissolve and rise to the surface as "sugar bloom." Cocoa bloom usually affects a very thin layer of the chocolate with a grayish discoloration but the chocolate is still fresh. Neither "bloom" affects the quality or flavor of the chocolate and, if the chocolate was completely melted and reshaped, the chocolate would regain its original color.
Protection of Perishable Products During Shipment
- Most orders going to "hot" areas of the country containing perishables (chocolates and candies, etc.) will be packed with leak proof Ice Bricks. Ice Bricks are a viscous gel refrigerant specially formulated with food safe non-toxic materials, and hermetically sealed in a heavy plastic pouch that stays colder than wet ice. Ice Bricks are the ultimate in refrigerant packs. Ice Bricks are tested and proven to be the coldest & best gel refrigerant available.
- LowCarbChocolates.com will take great efforts to protect your perishable items from exposure to heat by placing these items in the lower, center portion of the box and will try to put non-perishable items around them, as well as, placing ice bricks in the box to further shield them from the heat.
- If you choose regular UPS Ground shipping, your order contains perishables and you order on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, your order may be held until the following Monday before it is shipped. This will help prevent the package from sitting in a UPS warehouse which may be extremely hot over a weekend.
- EVEN THOUGH WE MAY PACK YOUR ORDER WITH ICE PACKS, IF YOU ORDER PERISHABLE ITEMS BY REGULAR UPS GROUND OR UPS 3 DAY SELECT SHIPPING, LowCarbChocolates.com WILL NOT GUARANTEE THE ITEM TO ARRIVE UNMELTED OR IN PERFECT CONDITION.
Shipping Options
Due to the increase in fuel surcharges being assessed by our shipping carriers, and our use of ice bricks for perishable items, we have had to unfortunately raise our shipping rates. Even with these increases, we hope you can see that our prices are still extremely reasonable compared to the alternatives. LowCarbChocolates.com attempts to keep the cost of shipping down by reusing packing boxes sent to us by our suppliers.
Shipment Notification & Tracking
LowCarbChocolates.com will send you two confirmation email messages - 1) when we receive your order, and 2) when we ship it (this email will provide information about your order, including UPS tracking number and notification of items that have been placed on back order).
